Final Project

I want to do my final project of snow! i think it would be kind of hard to get the exposure right and i will have to bracket like a beast but i think that it would pay off in the end and any contrast will be great! If it snows more i will narrow it down to snow covered trees or maybe i will just go up skiing and take pictures then but if by some weird incident that it doesn't snow then i will do my final project shadows! I wil also combine shadows and snow if they end up working out because the shadow will define the texture of the snow and make it look better! And hopefully it will look something like THIS:

The definition of cliche is: "A trite or overused expression or idea". It is really funny that when you look for an image on google that is a cliche and you type in "bee on flower" and about 4,440,000 images come up as a result. SO many people have photographed these things and they are cool and alot of people shoot them because they have seen them a lot and they know that it would be a "good" photograph but they are not really cool any more because so many of them have been taken.

I'm really glad that i redid this assignment. The numbers assignment was assigned to us before i discovered manual focus so i was able to get much closer to things this time and that helped alot. Also i started to notice the numbers and where they were and what they looked like before i actually started to shoot the assignment and i didn't have to hunt them down as much. This time i learned that the contrast is really crucial to make the shots look interesting because if they were gray, the numbers themselves wouldn't be very interesting. I tried to get good light on these images but it didn't really work because i went out in the morning and i shot things i had seen the night before but i was about ten minutes too early and so they were a little gray. I had to edit them alot and i didn't like that and also they were a little blurry but i think that the content of the numbers was wayyyy better than the first time i shot this assignment. I am glad i got the opportunity to redo an assignment!!!

PORTRAITS

wow this assignment was really hard for me to do because i couldn't pose people the right way without them looking boring or wayy too cliche. It was difficult. I will probably re shoot this. I did like taking pictures of people when they weren't expecting them though because that is when their personality most shows through in the photograph.I don't like the overall outcome of this assingment. I don't think i captured who the people acutally were that well and i think i could've done that alot better. I also think i need better backgrounds because for this assingment i was looking more for solid colors as backgrounds except for when i was trying to take pictures when the people weren't paying attention. Also i need to have some more difference of closeness because they all are about the same depth of feild. I would also like to take more pictures that are tack sharp and you can see every detail of the face. This assingment was verrrry hard for me and over christmas break i am going to re shoot it and try to do it better.
